Journey to the Galapagos Islands

Cartagena, Colombia

Set out on an enthralling adventure as we pilot our way to Colombia, a nation celebrated for its rich cultural and ethnic diversity. Our destination is Cartagena—an enchanting city seemingly suspended in time between the 16th and 19th centuries, with the Caribbean Sea as its picturesque backdrop. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cartagena boasts remarkably well-preserved colonial architecture, offering a captivating walking city experience through restored mansions, horse-drawn carriages, and old-world plazas. Before gathering for a group dinner, we will enjoy a charming carriage ride, fully immersing ourselves in the city’s timeless atmosphere and vibrant history.

The following day, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, we will embark on a walking tour through the historic walled old town. As we explore its cobbled streets, we will uncover the hidden stories of Cartagena while visiting iconic landmarks such as Puerta del Reloj, Plaza San Pedro Claver with its stunning church, and the lively Plaza Bolívar. After lunch, our exploration continues with a visit to the formidable Castillo San Felipe—the largest Spanish fortification in the Americas—constructed in the 17th century. We will conclude the day with a visit to the Convent of La Popa, also built in the 17th century and perched atop the city’s highest point, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the bay, Old Town, and the vast Caribbean Sea.

San Cristobal, Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport as we fly to San Cristobal in the Galapagos Islands, making a brief technical stop in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Upon touchdown, a seamless transfer will take us to the luxurious Hotel Indigo. There, we will enjoy an overnight stay, immersing ourselves in comfort and tranquility as we prepare for the upcoming charter flight scheduled for the following day. This strategic pause allows us to acclimate to the unique charms of the Galapagos, ensuring we’re fully refreshed and ready for the extraordinary experiences that await.

Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

We will begin our Galápagos adventure with a short charter flight to Baltra Island, where a staff member will greet us and escort us to the Galápagos Elite luxury yacht. After settling in and enjoying lunch on board, we will sail to Bachas Beach—a stunning stretch of shoreline ideal for swimming and snorkeling, often frequented by flamingos and sea turtles.

Over the following days aboard the Elite, we will explore the dramatic cliffs of Prince Philip’s Steps, the bird-filled shores of Darwin Bay, and the storied waters of Buccaneer Cove. We will snorkel and kayak in crystal-clear waters, stroll along Espumilla Beach, and discover vibrant marine life at Egas Port. At Black Turtle Cove, we will gently drift through serene mangroves in search of sea turtles, rays, and reef sharks.

Our Journey will continue to the Santa Cruz Highlands and the Fausto Llerena Breeding Center, where we will encounter giant tortoises in their natural habitat and learn about ongoing conservation efforts. We will then visit Lobos Island for a final snorkeling experience alongside playful sea lions before concluding our voyage at San Cristóbal Airport.

Panama City, Panama

Upon retrieving our aircraft, we will fly to Panama, enjoying a scenic approach to Panama City and taking in breathtaking views of the Panama Canal. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the Sofitel Casco Viejo, our residence for the next two nights.

The following day, our full-day sightseeing tour will begin with a one-hour exploration of the Panama Canal, where we will admire the lush surroundings and observe local wildlife, including monkeys. Afterward, we will proceed to the Miraflores Lock to witness vessels navigating the canal and explore the newly established museum, which offers a hands-on opportunity to simulate the lock system. A delightful buffet lunch will be served at the Miraflores Restaurant, offering panoramic views of the canal. In the afternoon, we will visit the Old City, discovering its most notable landmarks and historical sites. Later in the evening, prior to dinner, we will gather for a pilot briefing in preparation for the following day’s flight.
