Fly into Quebec City at your leisure and enjoy this lovely town full of history and culture. We will meet at the beautiful Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.

In the late afternoon, there will be a briefing on the Journey including a review of the first flight leg which will take us over Quebec to Kangerlussuaq, Greenland.

This evening we will gather for a welcome cocktail to get acquainted with the group before we enjoy our first dinner together.

Fly over the immense forests and numerous lakes of Canada on our way to Goose Bay, in northern Canada, for a technical stop. Then continue over southern Greenland’s beautiful scenery before landing at Kangerlussuaq in western, Greenland.

Today marks our flight to Jaipur, India, where we’ll be transferred to the majestic Rambagh Palace, our luxurious abode for the next three nights. Known as the Pink City, Jaipur’s walls were painted pink in 1876 as a symbol of hospitality towards visiting dignitaries, including Queen Victoria of England and the Prince of Wales.

Our exploration begins with Jaipur’s main attractions. We visit the iconic Hawa Mahal, or “Palace of the Winds,” renowned for its intricately carved windows designed for the palace’s ladies to observe street life unnoticed. Next, we delve into the 16th-century Amber Fort, touring its chambers, hallways, and the impressive Ganesh Pol Gateway adorned with images of the elephant-headed god. The following day, our adventure unfolds with a full-day tour of Ajmer and Pushkar, departing from Jaipur. In our private, chauffeured A/C vehicle, we traverse this multi-faith region, beginning with the spiritual tranquility of the Sufi Muslim Dargah Sharif. We then marvel at the intricate beauty of the Nasiyan Jain Temple before concluding our journey at India’s exclusive Hindu temple dedicated to Brahma, the creator of the universe. Continuing our adventure, we will arrive in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and transfer to the Samarkand Regency Amir Temur. In the afternoon, we will head to the center of Samarkand to explore the renowned Registan Square, a true architectural marvel showcasing some of Central Asia’s most breathtaking historical monuments. Surrounded by mosques and madrasas adorned with intricate tiles and vibrant blue domes, the square will exude traditional charm. We will cap off the day with a delightful welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Our exploration of Samarkand will begin with a sightseeing tour of its majestic monuments. We will visit the Ulugh Beg Observatory, built by the esteemed astronomer Ulugh Beg, followed by Shah-i-Zinda, an impressive collection of 14th-century mausoleums exhibiting exquisite craftsmanship. A pilaf lunch will await us at a local caravanserai to refuel for the day’s adventures.

In Samarkand, we will visit a local bakery in the winding alleys of the Old Town, where we will observe the crafting of the famous local round bread. Next, we will pay our respects at the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the resting place of Tamerlane, before exploring the Bibi-Khanum Mosque and the bustling Siab Market. Later, we will transfer to Meros, a mulberry tree paper-making studio, for a traditional Uzbek open-air lunch and a captivating private performance by a local tightrope-walking family. As the day winds down, we will return to Registan Square, which will take on a magical aura after dark.

Leaving Samarkand behind, today we will fly to Baku, Azerbaijan. Straddling the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, the enigmatic capital of Azerbaijan sits on the coast of the opal-blue waters of the Caspian Sea, with the Caucasus Mountains to the west. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the Beaux-arts style Four Seasons Hotel perched along the waterfront in the heart of central Baku. After dinner, we will head to the Martyrs’ Alley above the city to enjoy a unique night panoramic view of the illuminated city and the Flame Towers.

The next morning, we’ll explore Icheri Sheher, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with historical buildings and narrow lanes and one of the Middle East’s oldest continuously inhabited areas. We’ll visit the Museum Palace of Shirvanshahs and savor tandir bread. Our experience continues at the iconic Maiden Tower, also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Later, we’ll discover the art of crafting traditional silk scarves and have lunch at a local restaurant. Following that, we will visit the modern Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center with an impressive exhibition space. In the early evening, join us at the Baku Caviar Boutique for a unique tasting of Caspian black caviar paired with champagne. The day concludes with a festive farewell dinner at a local 18th-century caravansary turned elegant restaurant offering dishes like Shah pilaf and a traditional folk show with live “Mugham” music, a UNESCO-recognized Intangible Cultural Heritage.

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport and fly our separate ways as we head home.
