Cartagena, undeniably one of Latin America’s most beautiful cities lost somewhere in time between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, with the Caribbean sea as a sparkling backdrop. Sir Francis Drake laid siege to the city but the fortress walls and cannons remain, making the area within the old walled city a living museum.

The following day, enjoy a full day tour to experience Cartagena’s colonial charm with its tiled roofs, balconies and flower-filled courtyards. Relive history in the old walled city, the Ciudad Amarullada, where we will explore the four sectors, each one with a peculiar story to tell: San Diego, La Matuna, Getsemani and Santo Domingo.

Amazon River, Peru

Fly to Iquitos, a vibrant city nestled along the banks of the Amazon River in the heart of the northern Peruvian Amazon region. Upon arrival, transfer to the Iquitos Main Wharf to embark on the Aqua Nera Amazon Cruise, setting the stage for an extraordinary three-day adventure along the mighty Amazon and its tributaries, exploring remote and untouched corners of the rainforest.

Day two unveils the enchanting Yacapana Islands, known as “The Islands of the Iguana,” where you’ll encounter these fascinating reptiles and the mystical Amazon River dolphins. Journey along the Yarapa River, witnessing diverse wildlife and trying your hand at piranha fishing in Lake Moringo. Later, visit the tranquil Lake Clavero, where you can swim in its calm waters and engage with the welcoming local community.

On day three, delve deeper into the Amazon’s biodiversity as you explore a blackwater stream within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Cusco, Peru

Experience a captivating adventure in Cusco, Peru, where history and luxury intertwine at Belmond Hotel Monasterio. Day one welcomes you to this protected national monument, offering boutique rooms and inspired dining amidst a tranquil central courtyard. From here, immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of Cusco, where ancient architecture harmonizes with modern markets and cafes serving tantalizing Andean cuisine.

Our expedition brings an early morning departure aboard the Orient Express Luxury train, Hiram Bingham, for an unforgettable journey to Machu Picchu. Indulge in a scenic brunch as you traverse spectacular landscapes en route to the Lost Citadel of the Incas. Explore this awe-inspiring site with a guided tour, followed by afternoon tea at Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge Hotel. Return to the station for a VIP experience onboard, complete with cocktails, live entertainment, and a sumptuous four-course dinner, ensuring an unforgettable Machu Picchu adventure.

Continuing your Journey, immerse yourself further in Cusco’s rich heritage with a morning city tour, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Convent of Santo Domingo and the legendary Coricancha Golden Temple of the Sun. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore at your leisure, before savoring a delightful dinner at the MAP Café, nestled within the courtyard of the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art. With each moment infused with history and luxury, your journey through Cusco promises to be truly unforgettable.

Panama City, Panama

Upon retrieving our planes, we will fly to Panama, treating ourselves to a scenic approach to Panama City, where we will relish stunning views of the Panama Canal. Afterwards, we will transfer to Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo, our home for the next two nights.

On the following day, experience the best of Panama with a comprehensive natural and city tour. Cruise through Lake Gatun to spot exotic wildlife and learn about the Panama Canal’s history. Enjoy a traditional Panamanian lunch in Casco Viejo before VIP access to the Miraflores locks, where you’ll witness massive ships and discover the canal’s engineering marvels. This tour provides a perfect blend of Panamanian nature, culture, and engineering. Later in the evening, before dinner, we will gather for a pilot’s briefing to prepare for the next day’s flight.

The following day, after breakfast, bid farewell to Panama City and fly to Key West, FL, to clear U.S. customs as our Journey comes to the end.
