Day 1 - Wednesday, May 22: Quebec City, Canada

Welcome to Quebec City! Air Journey staff will greet you at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Situated in the heart of historic Old Quebec, the hotel sits high on a bluff overlooking St. Lawrence River.
All participants will meet for introductions and attend an extensive briefing covering the general procedures of our journey as well as details for tomorrow's departure.
 
Afterwards, we will gather for a welcome cocktail before dinner.

Day 2 - Thursday, May 23: Quebec City, Canada (CYQB) → Kuujjuaq Canada (CYVP) → Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (690 + 725 nm)

We will fly over the immense forests and numerous lakes of Canada on our way to Kuujjuaq for a technical stop.
 
We then continue over southern Greenland’s beautiful scenery before landing at Kangerlussuaq in western Greenland. The airport's Kangerlussuaq Museum illustrates the town's past as a U.S. airbase during WWII.
 
Because we will be approaching the Arctic Circle and the "land of the midnight sun," we will have an astonishing 20 hours of daylight!

Day 3 - Friday, May 24: Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (BGSF) → Reykjavik, Iceland (BIRK) (730 nm)

Fly over ice-covered Greenland and then do our second water crossing. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the Hotel Borg where we will enjoy luxury accommodations in the very center of Reykjavik.

Day 4 - Saturday, May 25: Reykjavik, Iceland

Embarking on an exhilarating Super Jeep tour, we will explore Iceland's wonders. We'll start by visiting Thingvellir National Park, renowned for its unique beauty and historical significance. As we traverse the mountain road to Lyngdalsheiði, captivating lava fields will await us, and we'll marvel at the dynamic Strokkur geyser in Haukadalur.

Continuing our adventure, we will witness the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall cascading into the Hvita River before concluding our day with an unforgettable visit to the renowned Blue Lagoon. This mesmerizing oasis nestled in a faraway paradise offers relaxation amidst stunning landscapes.

We will leave Reykjavik behind as we fly to Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden as well as the largest urban area in Scandinavia.

Day 6 - Monday, May 27: Stockholm, Sweden

Enjoy a city tour with our local guide to visit the wealthy Ostermalm District with the central city areas of Hotorget and Sergel Plaza and the Renaissance‐styled Royal Palace. Next we will explore the 18th to 20th century buildings in the Kungsholmen district including City Hall (this is where the Nobel Prize Award dinners are held every year). Our drive continues to the southern shore of Saltsjon island for an amazing view of the city from the top of picturesque Fjallgatan Street. Continue to Stockholm’s charming Old Town, “Gamla Stan,” with time to stroll along the charming cobblestoned streets.

Our flight continues to the Czech Republic to discover the beautiful city of Prague. One of the most beautiful and visited cities of Europe, this capital of 1.2 million has an incredible mix of
Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture. The Vltava River winds through this "city of a hundred spires", its riverbanks and the surrounding hills contrasting with the compact, winding cobblestone streets of the old city center. Prague is lively and sophisticated, drawing on its centuries-old tradition of breakthrough thinking in literature, music, and architecture.

Day 9 - Thursday, May 30: Prague, Czech Republic

Today, we will depart for a full-day tour to discover the highlights of this beautiful city.

The largest ancient castle in the world, Prague Castle sits on the highest hill in the city. Gigantic St. Vitus Cathedral, part of the castle, towers over the city and took 600 years to build. The crown-jewels of the Bohemian Kings and relics of St. Wenceslas, the 10th-century Duke of Bohemia, are on display. We'll explore the history and precious cultural and architectonic heritage of Prague. It is one of the most attractive sites in Europe and notonly for its geographic location is called "Heart of Europe". It lies in the center of the Bohemia on the river.

Today, we will embark on an enriching experience beyond Tbilisi's city limits, starting with a scenic drive to the 6th-century Jvari Monastery perched atop a cliff, overlooking the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers.

Our adventure will continue to the historic city of Mtskheta, where we will explore the sacred Svetitskhoveli, a site that houses the Robe of Christ. After our cultural exploration, we will savor a delightful wine tasting and lunch at Chateau Mukhrani (or Guramishvili’s Winery), enjoying Khinkali dumplings and experiencing a Churchkhela sweet-making masterclass.

Day 16 - Thursday, June 06: Tbilisi, Georgia

Our adventure continues with a full-day exploration of Tbilisi and this city's rich history, vibrant culture, and captivating architecture. In the Old Town, we'll stroll through cobbled streets, admiring iconic Georgian houses and the oldest surviving church, Anchiskhati Basilica, before taking in a panoramic view from Narikala Fortress.

After lunch, we will be able to choose between an optional visit to the National Museum of Georgia or leisure time before our evening farewell dinner on Mtatsminda hill, accompanied by fine Georgian wines.

Today, we will marvel at the city's iconic landmarks, including the Monument and Park of Independence, which resembles a stunning white-marble “Eiffel Tower” nestled within a beautiful park. We will also explore the rocket-like Arch of Neutrality, the exquisite Ertugul Gazi Mosque with its reminiscent Blue Mosque influences from Istanbul, and the enigmatic “Palace of Happiness” (officially named the Wedding Palace). Following this exploration, we will break for a delightful lunch at a local restaurant. In the evening, we will immerse ourselves in Turkmen culture by enjoying a special dinner comple- mented by a folk show featuring traditional music and songs, providing us with a captivating glimpse into Turkmen customs and rituals.

Our journey will continue to Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the Hyatt Regency Dushanbe, one of the first 5-star luxury destinations in the city conveniently located in the city center on the grounds of City Park, adjacent to Lake Javonon. The property reflects the distinctive flavor of Tajikistan in the design of its generously sized rooms and suites.

Day 20 - Monday, June 10: Dushanbe, Tajikistan

We will begin our exploration of Dushanbe with a visit to the Novruz teahouse, renowned for its unique exterior design, and then proceed to Rudaki Park and Independence Park. Afterward, we will venture outside the city to the picturesque Varzob gorge, which is a short drive away, and enjoy a picnic lunch by the river. We will have the opportunity to leisurely stroll through the natural landscapes, taking in the breathtaking mountain and river views, before our return to Dushanbe later in the afternoon.

Day 21 - Tuesday, June 11: Dushanbe, Tajikistan (UTDD)→ Jaipur, India (VIJP) (785 NM)

Today we will fly to Jaipur, India.

Once in Jaipur, we will transfer to the Rambagh Palace, our home for the next 3 nights. Jaipur, the walled capital city of Rajasthan, has been fondly known as the “Pink City” since it was painted pink in 1876 as a sign of the people's hospitality towards the visiting Queen Victoria of England and the Prince of Wales.

Day 22 - Wednesday, June 12: Jaipur, India

This morning we will discover the main attractions in Jaipur. Photo stop at Hawa Mahal - known as the "Palace of the Winds". This beautiful façade is probably the most-photographed in Jaipur, with ornately carved windows designed so the ladies of the palace could look out onto the streets unobserved. It is considered as the finest example of Rajput architecture whose lattice like exterior of sandstone and stained glass is one of the area’s most eye-catching icons.

We will continue to the 16th century Amber Fort. Tour the chambers and hallways of the palace. Within the complex is Ganesh Pol, an imposing gateway painted with the images of the elephant-headed god, Ganesh. The merging of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles is visible throughout including within the Charbagh garden with its perfectly proportioned landscaping.

Day 23 - Thursday, June 13: Jaipur, India

This morning, our visit takes us to the Jantar Mantar Observatory. Although it was built in the 1700s, it still appears futuristic, housing unique instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens! We will then continue to the City Palace to witness the Maharaja’s private collection of textiles and armory.

This afternoon will have us visiting the Gyan Museum to view Indian jewelry. Over 2500 artifacts include textiles, Mughal rugs, silver hookahs, gemstones, jewelry, etc.

Day 24 - Friday, June 14: Jaipur (VIJP) → Mumbai, India (VABB) → Male, Maldives (VRMM) (490 + 890 nm)

Fly to Male. There will be a technical stop in Mumbai to refuel.

Upon arrival, we will transfer by boat to the resort. Surrounded by the wonders of the Indian Ocean, One & Only Reethi Rah makes its home on one of the largest islands in North Male Atoll. It is a jewel among a string of coral atolls, lagoons and white sands.

Take a helicopter transfer to Kigali, before flying to N'Djamena. On route, we will have a technical stop in Bangui, Central African Republic, to refuel.

Upon landing, we will be warmly welcomed at the Radisson Blu Hotel, an elegant oasis in the heart of the city. With its modern design, impeccable service, and a range of luxurious amenities, this hotel is a sanctuary of comfort and style. Day 50 - Wednesday, July 10: N'Djamena, Chad

Our adventure will begin with a visit to the National Museum, where we'll explore an impressive collection of traditional crafts, archaeological wonders, and historical documents, unveiling the country's heritage. Next, we'll be captivated by the grandeur of the Presidential Palace, a testament to Chad's political history and architectural splendor. A leisurely stroll along the serene Chari River will offer picturesque views and opportunities to discover traditional crafts. The bustling Central Market will beckon us to haggle for local produce and handicrafts.

As the day unfolds, we'll experience the vibrant expressions of Chad's diverse ethnic groups through traditional music and dance performances. If adventure calls, a boat trip on Lake Chad and a safari tour at Zakouma National Park await. To complete this cultural odyssey, we'll savor the flavors of Chad with traditional dishes, including Chadian stew and millet-based porridge.

Our journey continues to Granada, Spain.

Upon our arrival, we will be whisked away to the exquisite Hotel Alhambra Palace, a majestic and historic gem nestled on a hill overlooking the city. With its opulent decor, breathtaking views, and impeccable service, the hotel exudes timeless elegance. Our stay promises to be a seamless blend of luxury and comfort, setting the tone for a truly enchanting experience in the heart of this historic city.

Day 52 - Friday, July 12: Granada, Spain

Today, we will embark on a full-day city tour that promises to unveil the city's rich history and captivating culture.

We'll explore the magnificent Alhambra Palace, wander the enchanting streets of the Albayzín district, and take in the breathtaking views from the iconic Mirador de San Nicolás. As the sun sets, we'll be transported to a world of passion and rhythm at Tablao Flamenco Albayzín, where a mesmerizing Flamenco show will captivate our senses, creating lasting memories of this luxurious journey through the heart of Granada.

Day 54 - Sunday, July 14: Granada, Spain (LEGR) → Shannon, Ireland (EINN) (955 NM)

Our Journey continues to Shannon, Ireland, where we will transfer to the picturesque village of Adare.

Situated in the lush heartlands of Limerick County, Adare Manor, and Golf Resort is one of Ireland’s most evocative and spellbinding hotels. Steeped in exotic history and surrounded by medieval ruins, its 840-acre demesne is home to beautiful parklands, superb trout fishing on the river Maigue, and a renowned 18-hole championship golf course.

Day 55 - Monday, July 15: Shannon, Ireland

This morning is at leisure to relax or explore on your own. The expansive 350-acre Adare Manor Estate lends itself perfectly to a range of activities, from country-classic pastimes such as horse riding, fishing, falconry, and shooting, to more modern activities such as golf, cycling, and kayaking.

In the afternoon we’ll visit the Wine Cellars at Adare Manor for a private wine tasting. We will discover wines and regions that embody exceptional quality, unique flavors, and captivating history.

Day 56 - Tuesday, July 16: Shannon, Ireland

Today, we'll intimately connect with the world's most majestic birds of prey. Skilled resident falconers will introduce us to a captivating array of eight raptors, showcasing the impressive diversity of birds from around the globe. This immersive falconry experience includes encounters with various owls like “Tiny” the Scops Owl, “Olaf” the Snowy Owl, and “Oscar” the Eurasian Eagle Owl. We'll also witness the incredible speed of a falcon, recognized as one of the planet's fastest animals, and have a Harris Hawk fly freely to our gloved hands.

Day 57 - Wednesday, July 17: Shannon, Ireland (EINN) → Reykjavik, Iceland (BIRK) (795 NM)

After breakfast, we will start our way back home as we fly to Iceland.

There will be a stop in Glasgow, Scotland, for fuel before continuing on to Reykjavik. Upon landing, we will transfer to the Hotel Borg. Tonight, we will gather for a farewell dinner in downtown Reykjavik.

Day 58 - Thursday, July 18: Reykjavik, Iceland (BIRK) → Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (BGSF) → Goose Bay, Canada (CYYR) → Bangor, Maine (KBGR) (730 + 870 + 610 NM)

After breakfast, we will head west to return home. Two technical stops have been arranged in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, and then in Goose Bay, Canada, for refueling before continuing onwards to Bangor, Maine, to clear U.S. Customs.

For those based on the west coast of the United States, an alternate stop to clear U.S. customs can be arranged. Afterwards, we will all go our separate ways home.
