Amanjiwo

Destination:
Borobudur, Indonesia
Description:
Amanjiwo (peaceful soul) overlooks Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist sanctuary, in the rural heartland of Central Java. Located in one of the most scenic parts of the country, it rests within a natural amphitheatre; the Menoreh Hills rise up behind and no less than four volcanoes grace the horizon. Amanjiwo’s main building is framed by 36 suites set in two graceful crescents around the central Rotunda. Limestone walls give shape to stone walkways that link the suites to the main building and the swimming pool. The suites feature terrazzo flooring, high ceilings, domed roofs and sliding glass doors that open to a garden terrace.
