Itinerary
Welcome to Quebec City! Air Journey staff will greet you at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Situated in the heart of historic Old Quebec, the hotel sits high on a bluff overlooking St. Lawrence River.
All participants will meet for introductions and attend an extensive briefing covering the general procedures of our journey as well as details for tomorrow's departure.
Afterwards, we will gather for a welcome cocktail before dinner.
We will fly over the immense forests and numerous lakes of Canada on our way to Kuujjuaq for a technical stop.
Then continue over southern Greenland’s beautiful scenery before landing at Kangerlussuaq in western Greenland. The airport's
Kangerlussuaq Museum illustrates the town's past as a U.S. airbase during WWII.
Because we will be approaching the Arctic Circle and the "land of the midnight sun," we will have an astonishing 20 hours o
daylight!
Fly over ice-covered Greenland as we continue towards Iceland.
Upon arrival, we'll transfer to the Hotel Borg where we will enjoy luxury accommodations in the very center of Reykjavik. The Hotel Borg overlooks the beautiful square of Austurvollur, and is situated across from Althingi, the Icelandic parliament and the cathedral.
After dinner at the hotel, you may want to venture on your own to experience the local nightlife.
Today we will venture on an adventurous descent inside the remains of Iceland’s dormant Thrihnukagigur volcano.
We will traverse the surreal landscapes of Iceland’s countryside on our way to the Blue Mountains, hiking through the area’s craggy lava fields. Then we will follow our guide inside the geological site's immense subterranean interior, its walls still scalded from an eruption that took place 4,000 years ago.
This morning, we continue north to Deauville, France, for our visit of Normandy. Upon landing, we will transfer to the
Chateau de Canisy, the private and most unique chateau of Count Denis de Kergolay in Canisy.
Enjoy the lifestyle of French royalty in this privately-owned Normandy castle. Set on 800 acres of verdant Normandy
countryside, in existence for over 1,000 years, the Chateau de Canisy is a historic presence of monumental proportions. Even more special still, is the fact that for those thousand years it has belonged to the same family, and it is their home.
We embark on a journey of discovery, visiting the sites of D-day (June 6, 1944) - the largest invasion force in history. Codenamed OVERLORD, it delivered five naval assault divisions to the beaches of of Normandy (codenames UTAH, OMAHA, GOLD, JUNO and SWORD).
We will walk among the cliffs, bunkers and edges, visit several museums, D-Day memorials and the very moving American Cemetery.

Fly to Czech Republic to discover the beautiful city of Prague. One of the most beautiful and visited cities of Europe, this capital of 1.2 million has an incredible mix of Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture. The Vltava River winds through this "city of a hundred spires," its riverbanks and the surrounding hills contrasting with compact, winding cobblestone streets of the old city center.
At the crossroads of centuries-old trade routes and now the cultural and economic center of the Czech Republic, Prague is an art-filled jewel in the heart of Europe. Alive with music and culture, it offers elegant riverside promenades, breath-taking architecture and cafe-lined squares.
Today we will depart with a private local guide for a walking tour of Prague Castle and Lesser Town. The largest ancient castle in the world, Prague Castle sits on the highest hill in the city. Gigantic St. Vitus Cathedral, part of the castle, towers over the city and took 600 years to build. The crown-jewels of the Bohemian Kings and relics of St. Wenceslas, the 10th-century Duke of Bohemia, are on display.
We'll explore the history and precious cultural and architectonic heritage of Prague. It is one of the most attractive sites in Europe and not only for its geographic location is called "Heart of Europe". It lies in the center of the Bohemia on the river.

Our next stop is Lucerne, Switzerland. We will fly into Zurich before transferring to Lucerne for our stay at the Mandarin Oriental Lake Lucerne. This exquisite hotel sits on the shores of Lake Lucerne, boasting stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Guests can expect spacious rooms and suites, elegantly designed with modern amenities. Indulge in Michelin-starred cuisine or relax with a cocktail at the stylish bar. Fly to Menorca - one of the Balearic Islands located in the Mediterranean Sea.
Upon arrival, we will transfer to the Hotel Torralbenc. The hotel is set in a charming, traditional Menorcan finca surrounded by rolling farmland and vineyards, yet close to the island’s sandy beaches with magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea.
With a delightful restaurant with a garden terrace and sea views, a salt-water outdoor pool, a romantic chapel and pretty gardens, this is the place to come for the perfect island hideout.
Today we will cruise the local waters by private boat (weather permitting) as we explore the island by sea.
There will be plenty of time for swimming as we explore the many “calas” or bays of the area, some only accessible by boat. Along the way, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch.

For those who are interested in exploring outside the property, Menorca’s two main cities: Maó or Ciutadella are great places to visit. Both places are full of charming cafes, shops and attractions.
After an enjoyable lunch in Lucerne, we will continue our guided tour through the narrow streets, viewing the historical places and attractions on land. Together, we will discover the city’s history and hear stories from daily life as we meander from the Chapel Bridge to the Octagonal Water Tower and Lucerne Castle. Delve into Lucerne’s historic Old Town, stroll along the city walls, and see the 16th-century houses for which Lucerne is famous.
Today we will fly to Tarbes to visit the birthplace of your great airplane: The SOCATA – Daher factory complex.
Witness the varying steps that are taken to bring these beautiful birds to flight. The tour will provide background on the history of Daher and give us an up-close look of their production facilities.

Our Journey continues to Amsterdam. Often referred to as the other "Royal Palace of Amsterdam", De L'Europe Amsterdam
occupies a scenic waterfront location on the Amstel River. The stylish rooms of the hotel embrace local heritage with special
attention to design detail and modern technology.
The hotel also offers a selection of the finest haute cuisine in Amsterdam; Michelin-starred restaurant Bord'Eau and brasserie
Marie.
With our local guide we embark on a walking tour for an intimate and insider’s view of this beautiful city. We will view Amsterdam’s historical center including Dam Square, the Royal Palace, the Anne Frank House, the Rembrandt House Museum and the infamous Red Light District while we learn about an intriguing historical background and snap photos of the UNESCO-listed canals and 17th-century gabled houses.
After lunch, we will visit the Van Gogh Museum and experience a canal cruise on the Amsterdam river.
Today is at leisure to relax and explore this beautiful small town on your own.
After breakfast , we will start our trek back towards home as we fly to Iceland. There will be a stop in Prestwick, Scotland, for fuel before continuing on to Reykjavik.
Upon landing, we will transfer to the Hotel Borg. Tonight, we will gather for a group dinner in downtown Reykjavik.
After breakfast, we will head west for our return home.
Two technical stops has been arranged in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland and then in Goose Bay, Canada for refueling before continuing onwards to Bangor, Maine, to clear US Customs. For those based on the west coast of the United States, an alternate stop to clear US customs can be arranged.
Afterwards, we will all go our separate ways home.
