Day 1 - Wednesday, July 7: Santa Fe, NM (KSAF)

Welcome to Santa Fe! Air Journey staff will greet you at the Inn of the Anasazi.

The hotel is just steps from Santa Fe’s notable Plaza. This most historic area of the city is completely walkable, with quaint winding streets featuring charming boutiques, restaurants, bookstores and art galleries tucked into every block. Aspects of the past remain in the look and feel of the traditional Spanish Plaza including a certain flavor of the Old West.

Late afternoon all participants will meet for introductions and attend an extensive briefing covering the general procedures of our journey as well as details for tomorrow’s departure.

Afterwards, we’ll meet for a welcome cocktail before dinner.

Day 2 - Thursday, July 8: Santa Fe (KSAF) → Monterey, CA (KMRY) 765 NM

Fly to Monterey. Upon arrival, transfer to the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur—a majestic stretch of land offering unmatched scenic beauty and famous for its breathtaking coastline, towering redwoods and epic hiking trails.

Day 3 - Friday, July 9: Big Sur

Today is at leisure to relax and enjoy the magnificent surroundings. The hotel offers guided nature walks, an edible tour of the chef’s organic culinary garden, a guided walking tour of the diverse art installations located throughout the Post Ranch property (complimentary champagne provided). In addition, the Post Ranch offers several Lexus vehicles for guest use as well as shuttles to escort guests around the Big Sur area.

We’ll meet during the day for an unforgettable experience as we are introduced to the ancient sport of Falconry. Get up close and personal with several raptors and learn about raptor conservation and the roles these predators play in our surrounding environment.

Day 4 - Saturday, July 10: Big Sur

Day 5 - Sunday, July 11: Monterey → Napa Valley, California (KAPC) (240 NM)

Fly to Napa. Tucked within a sunlit hillside overlooking renowned vineyards on the valley floor and the Mayacamas Mountains to the west, Auberge du Soleil enjoys one of the most famous panoramic views in all of Napa Valley.

Day 6 - Monday, July 12: Napa Valley, California

Napa Valley is one of the premier wine regions in the world with many grape varieties. It is particularly well-known for Cabernet Sauvignon and is the most popular planted grape in the entire Valley. We will visit a local winery for a unique and memorable experience.
 
Late afternoon, board the Napa Valley Wine Train for a relaxing three-hour, thirty-six mile round-trip journey through one of the world's most well-known wine valleys to the quaint village of St. Helena and back. Experience the long, warm California twilight and Napa Valley’s beautiful, golden hour sunlight for most of the way, with the opportunity to see those famous wine country sunsets. Dinner is served in an elevated observation-style dining car (a fully restored 1915-1917 Pullman Dining Car or 1952 Vista Dome car) as they pass the vineyards and wineries of Napa Valley.

Day 7 - Tuesday, July 13: Napa Valley, California

Day 8 - Wednesday, July 14: Napa Valley, California (KAPC) → Moab, UT (KCNY) 590 NM

Fly to Moab—gateway to massive red rock formations in Arches National Park. To the southwest, Canyonlands National Park features mesas and buttes carved by the Green and Colorado rivers as well as Native American rock art.

Transfer to Sorrel River Ranch—where luxury meets adventure! Delight in the hospitality of a traditional ranch beautifully fused with the attention to detail and the amenities of a rich and luxurious experience.

Day 9 - Thursday, July 15: Moab

This morning we will take time to visit Arches National Park which contains the world’s largest concentration of natural stone openings. The park provides visitors with an up-close experience of an unearthly, yet hauntingly beautiful, red rock landscape.

After lunch, we’ll visit Grand View Point in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. Grand View Point is located atop a 1000 foot mesa with viewpoints that encompass thousands of square miles of ruggedly spectacular canyon country. The setting is dreamlike with a constant change of colors and hues that will keep you mesmerized. Because of the varicolored landscape of southeastern Utah, many people feel that the views from the Island in the Sky actually surpass those seen at the Grand Canyon!

Day 10 - Friday, July 16: Moab

Today is at leisure to relax or enjoy any of the many spectacular optional outdoor excursions, from mountain biking to hiking, rafting, horseback riding, Jeep off-road adventure, and more. The ranch offers a variety of equestrian experiences for the novice or an experienced rider.

Day 11 - Saturday, July 17: Moab (KCNY) → Jackson Hole, Wyoming (KJAC) (295 NM)

Fly to Jackson Hole. Amangani's extraordinary wilderness at the foot of the Teton Mountains promises year-roud back to nature adventures.
 
With an elevation of 7,000 feet, Amangani lies on the wandering paths of moose and elk, promising endless opportunities for spotting the region's abundant wildlife in and around the flourishing national parks of Yellowstone and Grand Teton.

Day 12 - Sunday, July 18: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Today we will go for a half-day guided wildlife  safari where we will learn first-hand about the area while also becoming acclimated to our mountainous environment.

Day 13 - Monday, July 19: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Today is at leisure to relax or enjoy some of the local activities. Take in the fresh mountain air and explore the backcountry of the old west - on foot or horseback, by mountain bike, by hot-air balloon, or along the spectacular Snake River.

Day 14 - Tuesday, July 20: Jackson Hole, Wyoming (KJAC) → Home

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport as we each get ready to head back home.
