Day 1 - Tuesday, July 7: Friday Harbor, San Juan Islands, Washington (KFHR)

Welcome to San Juan Island! Air Journey staff will greet you at the Friday Harbor House.
 
Situated atop a bluff, Friday Harbor House offers stunning views of the scenic harbor below. Enjoy the charm and serenity of the San Juan Islands as you watch the ferries and boats come and go while taking in panoramic views of the San Juan Channel.
 
At the end of the day we will meet for a welcome cocktail and dinner.

Day 2 - Wednesday, July 8: Friday Harbor, Washington

Experience the thrill of seeing orca whales, harbor seals, California & Steller sea lions, Dall's & harbor porpoise, gray & minke whales, bald eagles, cormorants, great blue herons and so much more as we explore the local waters on a whale watching excursion.

Day 4 - Friday, July 10: Friday Harbor, Washington (KFHR) → Klamath Falls, Oregon (KLMT) (385 NM)

Fly to Klamath Falls where we will transfer to Crater Lake National Park. No place else on Earth combines a deep, pure lake, so blue in color with steep surrounding cliffs almost 2,000' high, two unique picturespe islands and a violent volcanic past! It is a place of immeasurable beauty and the deepest lake in the U.S. at over 1,900' deep.
 
Enjoy the warmth and hospitality of a bygone era at Crater Lake Lodge. Overlooking the lake at Rim Village, the lodge offers majestic views of the lake's pristine blue waters and sheer cliff walls.

Day 5 - Saturday, July 11: Klamath Falls, Oregon

Enjoy a two-hour cruise* as we circle the perimeter of Crater Lake, taking in up-close views of Wizard Island, Phantom Ship, and other natural formations. The boat excursion offers spectacular views of the natural beauty of the lake and the sheer cliffs that were formed thousands of years ago when the volcano collapsed and Crater Lake was born. A ranger on board shares information about the lake’s history, geology, and culture. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or enjoy hiking, swimming, or fishing on the lake.
 
*NOTE: Reaching the dock you will need to hike the Cleetwood Cove Trail. This trail is very steep and can be very strenuous as it drops approximately 700 ft. It may take 30 - 45 minutes to descent trail. (Trail is 2.2 miles round trip).

Day 6 - Sunday, July 12: Klamath Falls, Oregon (KLMT) → Napa Valley, California (KAPC) (240 NM)

Fly to Napa. The River Terrace Inn is situated in a serene location overlooking the Napa River and a Nature Preserve and just a few minutes' stroll from downtown Napa.

Day 7 - Monday, July 13: Napa Valley, California

Napa Valley is one of the premier wine regions in the world with many grape varieties. It is particularly well-known for Cabernet Sauvignon and is the most popular planted grape in the entire Valley. We will visit a local winery for a unique and memorable experience.
 
Late afternoon, board the Napa Valley Wine Train for a relaxing three-hour, thirty-six mile round-trip journey through one of the world's most well-known wine valleys to the quaint village of St. Helena and back. Experience the long, warm California twilight and Napa Valley’s beautiful, golden hour sunlight for most of the way, with the opportunity to see those famous wine country sunsets. Dinner is served in an elevated observation-style dining car (a fully restored 1915-1917 Pullman Dining Car or 1952 Vista Dome car) as they pass the vineyards and wineries of Napa Valley.

Day 8 - Tuesday, July 14: Napa Valley, California

Today is at leisure to relax or enjoy some of the local activities.

Day 9 - Wednesday, July 15: Napa Valley, California (KAPC) → Monument Valley, Utah (GMV) (580 NM)

Fly to Monument Valley. We will land at the private Monument Valley airstrip.
 
The Navajo Nation's Monument Valley Park is one of the most majestic sites on Earth. The great valley boasts sandstone formations that tower at heights of 400 to 1,000 feet, framed by scenic clouds casting shadows that graciously travel the desert floor. The angle of he sun accents these graceful formations, providing scenery that is simply breathtaking.
 
The landscape overwhelms, not just by its beauty but also by its size. The fragile pinnacles of rock are surrounded by miles of mesas and buttes, shrubs and trees, and windblown sand, all comprising the magnificent colors of the valley.

Day 10 - Thursday, July 16: Monument Valley, Utah

This morning we will visit scenic Mystery Valley - an area full of Anasazi Ruins and rock art, not seen from the main highway. There will be a stop for a barbeque lunch.
 
In the afternoon, explore the famous 17-mile loop of Monument Valley. View many of the famous monuments with stops at The East and West Mittens viewpoint, John Ford's Point & Three Sisters viewpoint, the Totem Pole viewpoint, Artist's Point and the North Window viewpoints. In the back-country, we will stop at the Sun's Eye & Ear of the Wind. This area of the Navajo Tribal Park boasts hidden treasures like natural arches and provides different vantage points from the traditional 17-mile loop road.

Day 11 - Friday, July 17: Monument Valley, Utah (GMV) → Jackson Hole, Wyoming (KJAC) (395 NM)

Fly to Jackson Hole. Amangani's extrodinary wilderness at the foot of the Teton Mountains promises year-roud, back-to-nature adventures. With an elevation of 7,000 feet, Amangani lies on the wandering paths of moose and elk, promising endless opportunities for spotting the region's abundant wildlife in and around the flourishing national parks of yellowstone and Grand Teton.

Day 12 - Saturday, July 18: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Enjoy a half-day guided wildlife where we will learn first-hand about the era while also becoming acclimated to our mountainous environment.

Day 13 - Sunday, July 19: Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Today is at leisure to relax or enjoy some of the local activities. Take to the fresh mountain air and explore the backcountry of the old west - on foot or horseback, by mountain bike, by hot-air balloon, or along the spectacular Snake River.

We will transfer to the airport as we each get ready to head back home.
