Day 1 - Monday, December 4: Key West, Florida → Flores, Guatemala (645nm)
We will meet this morning at the Key West International Airport for a detailed briefing.
Fly to Mundo Maya (Flores) International Airport to clear Customs and Immigration in Guatemala.
The old part of the city of Flores is located on an island in Lake Peten Itza, It was here, on this island on the shore of Lake Petén Itzá, that the last independent Maya state held out against the Spanish conquerors. The Spanish did not manage to conquer the island until 1697, when they marched in, attacked via boats, and destroyed it. From the ruins of Noh Petén arose the modern city of Flores.
There will be a visit to the island city of Flores to explore the cobblestone streets flanked by charming houses and handicraft stores. We’ll enjoy a typical local lunch and then transfer to our hotel, Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel.
At the end of the day we will meet to have a welcome cocktail before dinner.

Day 2 - Tuesday, December 5: Tikal, Guatemala
In the early morning, for those who desire, and prior to sunrise, we will head to the famous Mayan ruins of Tikal to walk through the jungle and climb on top of the Jaguar Temple to await the awakening of the jungle with its unique sounds and amazing light!
We will spend part of the morning exploring the other temples of this unique site and return to the hotel for lunch and an afternoon on the shores of Lake Flores.

Day 3 - Wednesday, December 6: Flores, Guatemala → Guatemala City, Guatemala (145nm) to Antigua, Guatemala
Our flight today brings us to Guatemala City.
After clearing customs, we'll transfer to our hotel.
The boutique Hotel El Convento, located in front of the traditional Convent of Las Capuchinas which was established in 1776 in the heart of the city.

Day 4 - Thursday, December 7: Antigua, Guatemala
Depart this morning for a full day tour of Antigua and the surrounding area. We’ll discover the ancient capital of Antigua nestled at the foot of three beautifully shaped extinct volcanoes. Antigua may be the most outstanding and well-preserved city in Spanish America. From its colonial architecture to its beautiful surroundings, you’ll feel like you stepped back in time 300 years while strolling through town on the cobblestone streets to experience the splendors of ancient times!

Day 5 - Friday, December 8: Antigua, Guatemala
Today is free to explore the beautiful town of Antigua for its history and culture.
Though partially destroyed by the 1773 earthquake, it still preserves its colonial character with ornate churches, convents and Spanish-style homes. It is also home to some of the best quality arts and crafts in the country.
Take an optional helicopter tour and lunch to nearby serene and unspoiled Lake Atitlan. Situated at a mile-high, this spectacularly beautiful lake is set among volcano peaks and surrounded by 12 Indian villages named after the 12 apostles.

Day 6 - Saturday, December 9: Antigua, Guatemala, to Guatemala City, Guatemala → Rivas, Nicaragua (325nm)
Fly along the Pacific of Central America to Rivas, Nicaragua where we will land at the new Costa Esmeralda Airport. Transfer to the luxurious Mukul Beach, Golf & Spa Resort. Set on a spectacularly beautiful four-mile stretch of white sandy beach, enjoy breathtaking views of Nicaragua's Emerald Coast. Mukul means "secret" in Mayan!

Day 7 - Sunday, December 10: Rivas, Nicaragua
Today is at leisure to relax or explore on your own. Choose from the optional activities available at the resort including biking through the rain forest, golfing in the jungle or on the ocean-shore, and day-tripping to the historic village of Granada.

Day 8 - Monday, December 11: Rivas, Nicaragua
Today is at leisure to relax or explore on your own. Choose from the many activities available at the resort.

Day 9 - Tuesday, December 12: Rivas, Nicaragua → Liberia, Costa Rica (60nm)
Today's flight takes us to Liberia. Situated oalong a coastal hillside to an isthmus of golden sand, the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo provides an ambience of simple luxury in a pristine natural setting. Enjoy two unspoiled beaches, an indigenous spa, championship golf and the magic of the tropical dry forest.

Day 10 - Wednesday, December 13: Peninsula Papagayo
This morning there will be free time to relax. Optional activities incude fishing, an exciting canopy tour, horseback riding, golf and tennis.
In the afternoon we will enjoy an afternoon sunset catamaran cruise.

Day 11 - Thursday, December 14: Liberia, Costa → Key West, FL (860nm)
After breakfast, we'll head back to Key West to clear US customs. There will be an optional stop in Belize to refuel.
