Air Journey’s First African Journey!
As you all know, Air Journey is preparing to embark on an adventure of a lifetime, an escorted flying Journey around Africa! Three planes departed on September 8, 2011 to travel the African Continent in 56 days! With scheduled stops in over 26 countries, the group will be experiencing everything from a romantic night gondola ride through Venice’s canals, to experiencing the wilderness on an African Safari, all the way and beyond to the splashing waters of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, and so much more!
For all, it is the experience they have been dreaming of since they were issued their pilot licenses. It has taken much preparation from everyone to ensure this Journey goes on without a hitch from flight authorizations in foreign languages, to a mountain of 9 visa applications per client ensuring our entries into those countries, to checking the quality of our survival suits for our Transatlantic crossing. Yet, we all know to expect the unexpected and are well prepared for any bump in the road we may encounter.
Like all of our Air Journeys, we are bringing together a group of skilled pilots, flying a variety of aircrafts, to be led around Africa under the supervision of Thierry Pouille, president of Air Journey. With new clients and some returning ones, we are sure to have a great group dynamic with whom we are sure to make memories for a lifetime. Joining us we have Steve, Judy and their son Brian, in thier TBM850, Dale and Nan in their Pilatus PC-12, and Steve and Tisha in their Citation V. Both the TBM850 and Citation V joined us in 2010 for our 2nd Around the World Journey so we are very excited to have them with us again.
We invite you to “ride along†our Journey to Africa and experience the grandiosity of this adventure with us! We will be updating our posts, photos, video diaries, and travel maps throughout the 56 days and hope you will enjoy keeping track of your family and friends via this site.
Welcome aboard and be sure to bookmark the site and check in regularly!
